“Energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be changed from one from to another.” -Albert Einstein
When you interact with the people in your life, especially those in relationship positions that you get to choose, like friends and lovers, how do those interactions leave you? Do you feel calm? Happy? Energized? Supported? See, heard, and accepted? Do you feel that you gave the other person that same energy? Or do you feel stressed, depressed, depleted, isolated, or even rejected and criticized? If energy cannot be created or destroyed, as we must all share and transfer our energies with one another, then we must make sure that both the energy that we give out to and take in from others is healthy and reciprocal. Do not consistently accept less, or inferior quality, energy from someone than what you have freely shared with them. You are not obligated to set yourself on fire to keep another warm. You deserve relationships where each person’s inner light is burning, and all interactions keep the flames burning. Don’t be so busy tending to someone else’s fire that yours goes out.
