We all have desires, but truly believing that we are worthy of our heart’s desires is a key element to actually receiving them.
Everybody has wants, needs, and deeply-held desires. But not everyone feels worthy of the things that they want. In fact, many people yearn for something deeply while simultaneously convincing themselves that they’re not ready yet, they’re not good enough, this is too hard, or that it isn’t for “people like me.” As a result, they never do get those things that they want. And it isn’t because they aren’t deserving, but because they don’t believe themselves worthy, and this assumption plays out as their reality.
Self-love is the key to feeling confident and worthy, and feeling worthy is the key to getting the most out of our lives. Many of us would rather seek love (or even just tacit “acceptance” from friends and lovers) than to do the inner work of learning to truly get to know and love ourselves again, but it’s necessary. This is the only way that you can pursue your dreams, and have healthy, meaningful relationships with others, without the inner resistance of your subconscious mind telling you that you’re not good enough. Learning self-love after a lifetime of self-doubt and self-hatred is hard, at first. But the more kindness you show yourself, and the more positively you talk about and to yourself, the easier it will become.
